Context

As students graduate and pursue creative careers, it's important to stay inspired and supported, especially in design. Many of my colleagues wanted more motivation to create art but struggled to find the right online community. SONDR was created to foster creativity and exploration.

Problem

Creative individuals need a platform to showcase, share, and sell their art to gain visibility and connect with other local artists.

User Research

Synthesizing Research

To better understand my research I categorized users' responses into themes through affinity mapping, which is a collection and sorting of our interview observations.

After affinity mapping, I discovered that users want…

  • Efficiency & Convenience.

  • The ability to share and keep up with fellow colleagues in the design space.

  • A platform that is open to all artists/creatives and not just digital designers.

Now, we can identify our primary persona.

What problem are we solving for Raya?

Raya needs a creative platform to connect and collaborate with other artists/friends while also having the ability to market her talents and profit from her creative skills.

What are some key elements that Raya is looking for in SONDR?

  • Collaboration: The ability to connect with other artists in her area.

  • E-comm: A marketplace to sell her art.

  • Community: A tool to stay up to date on her favorite artists/friends without the extra clutter of everyday social media.

Designing our Solutions

Login: As a new user you will be prompted to slide the toggle to “enter your creative playground”. This immersive experience is meant to replicate the act of unlocking a space that is personal and intimate with the user.

Each panel represents one of the three use cases of the site:

  1. To save and gather inspiration from other artists.

  2. To share your creations on a public or private feed.

  3. To sell your art and get more reach.

While SONDR is still a work in progress, I hope to refine features and conduct more research to better understand my users and create a more seamless experience.
